New Sports Uniforms by Nike
This week two schools unveil new sports uniforms by Nike for all its sports. State Cougars unveils its sports uniforms on Monday night in Spokane, while Arizona State University unveils its sports uniforms this Tuesday in Tempe.
The highlight of State Cougars' new sports uniforms is the new gray football helmets rather than the school's traditional crimson. The redesign follows a yearlong endeavor between the Washington State University athletic department and Nike. The new sports uniforms will incorporate crimson and gray colors with new lettering and numbers that will be identical for all sports.
The change for ASU is part of the new branding and marketing of ASU sports centering around a pitchfork emblem over the existing Sparky character. The new football sports uniforms include black helmets and clothing to go along with the existing white, yellow and maroon colors. This will offer bigger merchandising opportunities for ASU and Nike, considering ASU has over 58,000 students on its main campus in Tempe, the largest in the US.
